It is always great to add another species to my archives, but it is especially amazing when it is an extremely endangered species! The Least Tern is a small bird that lives on the coast. There is estimated to be about 10,000 individuals nationwide. I went down to Long Beach in Stratford, CT. to try and capture these beauties. I saw around 100 of these guys, so that’s 1% of the population! I can’t get over that. I got tons of great shots, but have picked my best three to showcase in this blog post.
They are amazing in flight!
More biology and photos of this species will be showcased on my next blog post.
