A Little Bit of Smoke

A Little Bit of Smoke

As we were driving past the airport today, I noticed the Stearman, as well as the AT-6 Texan were sitting outside of their hangar. We drove into the parking lot and were invited onto the tarmac by the pilot of the planes. He allowed me to walk around the planes, which are stunning up close. It was hard not to make a good image.

The pilot, Chris, started up the Stearman, and ran some smoke through it. It was so cool to see the smoke purring out of it.

I focused on getting some different angles, as the plane has so many intricate details. Every angle is a golden angle!

Of course, I had to give some attention to the AT-6 Texan. That too is a beautiful plane and represents a different part of American Aviation History. Thank you for a great evening of shooting Chris!

Holy SMOKES!!!! Sorry… couldn’t resist…. 🙂 these are great shots… where is the hanger for these planes? I drive by there every day on my way home from work and I haven’t seen them.
Yesterday at lunch I was sitting outside and as I was studying the clouds, a plane flew over and then another and another… I was thinking of you as each one flew over. Planes and clouds, the perfect Joey combination and then this morning I see the Stearman from Behind with the clouds in the background… That one is my favorite. You’ve got me hooked on clouds… Fortunately my cube faces a window so I can check them out all day long. 🙂
