I was taking a break from my web design and I went to look out the window and right as I did that, a large bird with the wing and body shape of an owl swooped by. I ran for my camera and went out into our front yard and there were birds going crazy in a pine tree in our side yard and sure enough there was an owl sitting right there! He flew into our neighbors yard before I could get glass on him, but I was able to relocate it and ID it. It was a Barred Owl! The first one I have ever seen in the wild. The picture isn’t very good, shot at ISO 2500 plus a considerable crop, but it is a documentary shot!

I don’t know what you are talking about. This is a really cool shot. I love how he is hidden, yet in plain view. Looks like something out of Harry Potter or that Owl movie.. the Legend of the Guardians.. I’m going to send the link to my granddaughter. She loves Owls. she’ll love this picture.
