Westerners Game

Baseball has never been one of my strengths with sports photography, but I have to say it is , much easier than hockey photography. The only problem with the Rogers park field is there is ugly fences all around. On the other side of the fences are cars galore, which makes for a very cluttered background. The key is to use a fast aperture lens to cut down the DOF.

The best places for action are third base and the pitchers mound. Luckily there were multiple close calls at 3rd base that made for some good opportunities.

Great action shots. Like that you captured the ball in each one. You are right about the cars in the background, but the one on the pitcher’s mound looks really good. The signs add to it.
So that probably was your dad’s red truck I saw there last night near Engine #22…
