Biography - Joey Lounsbury
Joey is the lead photographer of J Lounsbury Photography. He received his first DSLR camera for a Christmas present in 2007. Since that time, he has attended several photography classes throughout New England. In addition to classroom study, fourteen year old Joey hones his skills by shooting thousands of pictures, adhering to the motto "practice makes perfect".
In addition to his love of photography, Joey is an avid birder. He has read many books and constantly researches on the internet. At his young age, Joey has an amazing wealth of knowledge about birds throughout the world.
Joey is now focusing his lens on aviation photography. Joey is intrigued by all things that fly. Check his blog for some great shots of vintage aircraft.
Awards
Joey received his first photography award in 2009 when he entered the photography contest for The Great Backyard Bird Count. Joey was selected from over 6000 entries, and received an honorable mention for the group category. His award winning photo is a favorite of all that have seen it.
Joey won the best Black & White photo for the 2010-2011 season finale competition of the Candlewood Camera Club. A Look Through Time
The 2011-2012 Candlewood Camera Club season premiere competition was September 13, 2011. Joey won first place for the assigned topic of Nature with Black Skimmer, Skimming.
Current Responsibility
Joey has been selected as the official team photographer for the Danbury Whalers Hockey team, for the 2011-2012 season. Joey's hockey shots will be available for purchase from the Danbury Whalers.
